Past: Born in Karasjok, Norway to a Finnish mother and Norwegian father. His mother works in a contemporary art center geared toward the celebration of indigenous arts while his father works in forestry.

Trygg didn't have a lot of friends early in his life and turned to music. He would always ask his father to bring music back from the bigger cities when he traveled for his job. Eventually, his father came home with both a guitar and bass when Trygg was 12 and he was hooked. He quickly threw himself into music and learning to play. He didn't have much sheet music so he learned to play music by ear. Now he is very good at replicating music that he has heard with accuracy.

By 16 he had his own band and was writing lyrics and playing bass. The band was a ballad oriented glam rock band named Stridha Kvæðis (War Ballad/Poetry). After three years the band fell apart for various personal reasons and everyone went their separate ways. Not long after Korppi ran into Trygg in a bar talking about a band he was pulling together. Eager to get back into playing, regardless of the genre, Trygg joined Svarte Ravner. The style was completely different but he fell easily back into writing music and assisting, at times with lyrics.
